Earwax Microsuction Removal
Our ear clinic helps to diagnose painful and irritating ear conditions. We can provide an ear examination by one of our fully trained members of staff the cost of which, £20, will then be deducted from the microsuction procedure. We believe in offering a quick, efficient, effective service.
Microsuction is the safest, most effective method of ear wax removal available. This gold standard technique uses a high power microscope to look into the ear while using a narrow suction device to gently and painlessly remove the ear wax. It allows us to have a clear view of the full ear canal and can make sure that all wax has been thoroughly removed.

How it works
A pharmacist uses a microscope and a low-pressure suction device to gently remove earwax from your ear canal.
Benefits
Microsuction is a quick procedure that doesn't use water, so it's cleaner and more comfortable than other methods. You can usually go home the same day and should notice an immediate improvement in your symptoms.
When it's used
Microsuction is recommended for people who shouldn't have water in their ears, such as those with a perforated eardrum, a history of thick ear discharge, or who have had ear surgery.
What Do I Need To Do Before My Appointment:
We strongly recommend coming in 5-7 days prior to your appointment for an ear examination where a deposit of £20 will be charged. This will allow us to determine what the best course of action is tailored to the individual. It is strongly advised to use olive oil or sodium bicarbonate ear drops for 5 days prior to the microsuction appointment. Same day appointments are possible subject to availability.
How Much Does Microsuction cost:
1 ear £40. 2 ears £55.
Aftercare
After the procedure, you should avoid strenuous activity for 1-2 days. You can take over-the-counter pain relievers if you experience any discomfort.
Side effects
Possible side effects include dizziness, discomfort, reduced hearing, infection, or trauma to the ear.
Who needs earwax microsuction?
